What is Quantum Disentangled?

Quantum Disentangled is a monthly newsletter that breaks down quantum-related concepts, analyzes papers, and provides research on quantum computing companies.

Our mission is to democratize access to knowledge about the quantum computing industry and help individuals develop a quantum intuition from the fundamentals.

Writing pieces will be one of the following:

  • Breakdown of a quantum concept

  • Research and analysis of a quantum-related company

  • Analysis of a pre-print or active paper

  • Broader field analysis

We strongly believe in zero-cost science. Nothing will be pay-walled. Subscribe for free to get future posts delivered directly to your inbox:

Who are we and why are we doing this?

Sabrina Chern: Physics Ph.D. student @ the Yao Lab at Harvard, research in quantum many-body physics. Previously a Quantum Computing Intern at IBM.

Ryan Chern: Engineering intern @ Solana, co-founder Quantum Labs, ai23 (non-profit science education platform for middle and high school students), Outliers, Soma Capital scout.

We’re siblings and we often chat about our work and what we’re up to. When discussing Sabrina’s research, I (Ryan) was often lost within seconds given my lack of a formal quantum physics education. A few fancy Greek symbols, some vector space, and I was lost:

This newsletter is our attempt to formalize and publicize our learnings.

The first few installments will focus on beginner content to quantum computing and information as a primer for future analyses. Down the line, we’ll analyze papers and companies at the quantum frontier as well as generate macro-level quantum theses.

Why subscribe?

For students and researchers: Keep up to date with the most important developments in the ever-growing quantum community that makes us especially excited. Hopefully, this will help you learn about papers that you might not otherwise read, or help you uncover a topic that you might want to dive into more deeply. We will do our best to connect students and researchers with each other (make sure to sign up with your university/institution email).

For investors: Gain a clear, unbiased view from first-principles of where the quantum industry is going. Get deep insights into which quantum computing methods and markets top firms and prominent individuals are interested in.

For the general public: Learn the basics of quantum computing and understand where the industry is going. Stay up to date with explanations about the latest papers without the scientific jargon.

We hope our work helps lower the barrier to understanding the developments in the quantum computing industry. Our approach takes a lot of research, discussion, and editing to execute well, which is why we are only aiming to release just one piece per month. Subscribe to make sure you don’t miss it.
